FIRE AT RONGOTEA.
GARAGE AND SHOP. THREE MOTOR-CARS BURNED. [BY T£LEGIUI'H —OWN CCr.UESt'ONDENT. 1 PALMERSTON NORTH. Monday. Another fire occurred at Rongotea at one o'clock this morning. Melles' motor garago and Glover's blacksmith shop wero totally destroyed, Tho building, which was 37 years old, was owned by Mr. J. Glover and was insured. His stock was also covered. Mr. Melles, whose stock was partly insured, estimates his loss at £SOO. Three cars were burned in tho garage. The cause of the fire is unknown, but it is believed to have originated in the garage. Although there was a large crowd at the fife, very little could be done, owing to the strong hold the flames had before being detected. In endeavouring to put the fire out, Mr. George Ilhngwortli received injuries necessitating his removal to Palmernton North, where he was given medical attention.
