AUCKLAND STOCK EXCHANGE. day of good business. For the opening day of the week, the Auckland sharemarkct yesterday was busv. In Government securities, there was demand for most classes of War Loans and Inscribed Stocks and sale was made of 1933 5£ P er cents, War Loan and Inscribed Stock, at £lOl ss. Sellets quoted the same figure for further parcels of Inscribed Stock, buyers £lOl. The banks section was very quiet. New Ze:ilands were unchanged at 60s and 59s 3d. Unions of Australia were nearer an accommodation at £ls 14s 6d and £ls 12s. In insurance South British had sale at 545, a decline of Is 6d oil the most recent previous sale made at the beginning ff April. Jn coal Hikurangi A pref, were done at 2s Id, as on Saturday, the market being steady at 3s and Is lOd. Quotations of 60s for Pukemiros failed to attract offers. In gas the finning tendency of Aucklauds was maintained, sales being made at 23s 4d and 23s sd, compared with 23s 3d last week. There was firm demand for more at 23s 4d, sellers 23s 6d. In mining, Washis were again done at 18s.
