UNIVERSITY FOOTBALL.
THE VISIT TO AUSTRALIA. Sydney University footballers are looking forward to the "visit of the New Zealand Universities' team this year, says an Australian writer. Not since 1908 has Sydney held the "ashes," although in 1923 the result was undecided, as the first match was drawn and the second won by the New Zealanders, after a magnificent uphill fight, when they were IT points in arrears at half-time. With Sheehan, Gibson, Burge, Foote, Johnston and Boss available in the backs; and O'Desvj, Windever, Waddingtou and Flynn fanning the nucleus of a strong pack, Sydney University will provide an extremely tough proposition for the New Zealand students.' There will also be a leavening of younger players from the Great Public Schools; and Lamport, Mann, and Dezarnaulds have * excellent chances of representing the University jf they reproduce their school form.
