DIAMOND WEDDING.
CELEBRATION AT HUNTLY. MR. AND MRS. R. BROOKS. The diamond wedding of Mr. and Mrs. Richey Brooks, of Drury. will be celebrated to-day. The marfiago was performed at First Presbyterian Church, Cookstown, County Tyrone, Ireland, by the Rev. 11. B. Wilson, on May 3, 1867. Mr. Brooks, who is in his 91st year, is 10 years older than Mrs. Brooks. They came out to New Zealand in the sailing ship Lauderdale, which arrived at Auckland, January 29, 1875. After working in Auckland for a few years, Mr. Brooks was sent to Drury by the Railway Department. Mr. and Mrs. Brooks then started business as grocers in Drury, retiring about five years ago. Four sens and four daughters afe still living. They are Mr. T. H. Brooks, J.P., Captain W. J. Brooks and Mr. W. Brooks, of Drury, Commandant A. J, Brooks, Salvation Army, Sydney; Mrs. Benege, Auckland; Mrs. Watkinson, Ngaruawahia; Mrs. Robinson, Drury; arid Mrs. Anderson, Bankstovvn, Sydney. There are 21 grandchildren and one great grat dchild.
