ROBBERY FROM SHOP.

REMOVAL OF A TILL. SECOND VISIT IN SIX WEEKS. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] CHEISTCIIURCH. Saturday. Tihere have been several recent thefts from seaside homes at New Brighton. The daring character of a theft there last evening raises it above the petty standard. Mrs. J. M. Thompstono, a widow who conducts a general store, was engaged in a living room at the i'ear of the premises. Apparently she was watched from an empty section next door. Between 8.45 p.m. arid 9.15 p.m. someone entered the shop ?ind quietly walked behind the counter. The till, which contained about £2, a gold band ring and some papers, was removed from under the counter and matches, cigarettes and chocolates were stolen. The total value of the stolen goods was about £4, Luckily, Mrs. Thompstone had paid tho tradesmen that day. The till was found on the vacant section this morning, the papers being scattered about on the wet ground. The chocolates and matches were found farther along the street. The same shop was visited six weeks ago by someone who stoie a quantity oi; sweets.
