The following awards were made at a meeting of the special committee of the New Zealand University Council to-day:— Senior Scholarships, 1926.—English: C. R. Straubel, Auckland. French: Sadie M. Foote, Otago. Latin: C. A. Sharp, Otago. Economics: E. J. Riches, Canterbury. History: Gertrude Batchelor, Canterbury. Philosophy: E. Beaglehole, Victoria College. Education: Constance G. Smith, Victoria College. Mathematics: A. G. Harrington, Otago. Physics: H. M. Taylor 1 , Otago. Chemistry: K. I. Missen, Otago. Botany: B. W, Doak, Canterbury. Geology: J. A. Hurst, Otago. Law (contracts and torts) : C. E. Scott, Victoria College. The Tinline Scholarship was awarded to Ngaire Penrose, University of Otago. An additional scholarship was awarded to F. J. Bennett, Canterbury College, in Latin. Post-graduate scholarships in Arts. — F. W. W. Rhodes (Canterbury), R. M. Campbell (Victoria), and E. M Blaiklock (Auckland). 1851 Exhibition Science Research Scholarship.—G. M. Richardson, Victoria College. _ Post-graduate Science Scholarship.—R. G. Penseler, Otago.
