NEW DIAMOND FIELD.
SOUTH AFRICAN DISCOVERY. VALUABLE STONES FOUND. A. and N.Z. CAPETOWN. April 7. There has been a sensational discovery of a diamond field in a desolate region of Namaqualand, north of Fort Nolloth, a township at the. moutii of the Owens River. The find is regarded as almost unique in the history of diamond prospecting. Isolated discoveries of diamonds were made in this region as far back as the year 1909, but the present discovery has so far yielded diamonds valued at £IOO,OOO, including a fine stone of carats, which is valued at £7OOO. Further sensational finds are anticipated.
