NEW HOCKEY SEASON.
FIRST MATCHES ON APRIL 30. RELIEVING GROUNDS SHORTAGE. The competition matches in all grades under the control of the Auckland liockey Association will commence on April 30. Entries will close with the secretary, Mr. E. J. Hewitt, on April 26. An effort will be made to play an interseeondary schools' competition, excluding third grade teams, on week-days. This, it is anticipated, will help to relieve the position brought about by the shortage of grounds on Saturdays. *' --
