BELATED WAR CLAIMS.

ACTS BY THE GERMANS. INCIDENTS 13 YEARS AGO. [BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.! WELLINGTON", Friday. The Public Trustee, in his capacity as controller of the New Zealand Clearing Office, has received advice that the arbitrator appointed under the Treaty of Versailles to assess the amount of claims by British nationals growing out of acts committed by the German Government, or by any German authorities between July 31, 1914, and August 4, 1914, has announced that in the case of claimants resident in New Zealand all such claims must be lodged with him prior to July 15 next. A common example of these claims is that of British sailors who suffered loss of wages through the illegal detention of their vessels by the German authorities after July 31, 1914, and prior to the actual outbreak of war. All claimants who have claims of this nature are advised to communicate immediately with the Public Trustee, who will supply them with forms to be completed and adviso them as to their claims.
