MORE BURGLARIES.
THREE PREMISES ENTERED. NOTHING OF VALUE TAKEN. Three premises in the city were broken into by burglars on Wednesday night, but practically nothing of value was secured. At the store of Messrs. S. Rawnsley, Limited, kauri gum merchants, Lower Federal Street, two locks on the front door were forced with a jemmy, apparently not without a good deal of trouble. An inner door leading to the office had then been forced, and the office had apparently been thoroughly overhauled. An attempt had apparently been made to force open the office safe. All that the burglars secured was a quantity of stamps valued at from 10s to 15s, and a lucky halfpenny. The store of Messrs. A. B. Donald, Limited, at the City Markets, was ateo broken into during the night, the lock on the door having been forced. Nothing was disturbed. The third place broken into was a small office at the rear of Malcolm Wiseman, Limited's, premises, in Albert Street. The office was ransacked, but nothing was stolen. A CASE AT GISBORNE. KNOWLEDGE OF BUILDING. [BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.! GISBORNE. Thursday. A burglary was committed last night at the premises of Messrs. Common, Shelton and Co., Ltd., the burglars escaping with clothing and mercery valued at more than £BO. Entrance was gained by a route that could be known only to someone acquainted with the building, and the intruders carried out their raid with attention to detail worthy of a better cause.
