AUCKLAND ASSOCIATION. ANNUAL MEETING HELD. A SUCCESSFUL SEASON. q . The twenty-fourth a:nnual general meeting of the Auckland Hockey Association was "held lapt evening. Mr. L. C. Kent, president of the association, presided. There was a large attendance of club delegates and supporters. The report and balanco#sheet. details of which have already been published, were adopted. The chairman referred to the past year as being the most momentous in the history of Auckland hockey. The visit of the Indian Army team had aroused tremendous interest and was of incalculable benefit from a playing point of view. In reviewing the report. Mr. L. H. Norton, vice-patron of the association, remarked that the reintroduction of hockey into the primary schools was undoubtedly a move in the right direction. It was pleasing to record the success of the school competitions last season. The action of last year's committee in electing Captain Falcon a life member was confirmed. Officers for the ensuing year were elected as follows:—Patron. Mr. E, R. Davis; vicepatron, Mr. L. H. Norton: president, Air. L. C. Kent; vice-presidents, Messrs. H. B. Burnett, A. S. Player, H. B, Speight: honorary secretary, Mr. E. J. Hewitt; honorary treasurer, Mr. A. Playle; assistant-honorary secretary, Mr. Peace: honorary auditor. Mr. A. C. Johns; delegates to New Zealand Hockey Association. Messrs. J. Taylor and G. Ellyett; executive committee. Messrs. Nicholson, Burton, Fitt. Craig, Ellison, Radcliffe. Fletcher and Giles.
