LEAGUE FOOTBALL.
REVIEW OF PAST SEASON. TOTAL REVENUE OF £5597. A record season vra.s experienced by the Auckland Rugby League in 1926. The annual report states that the total revenue was £5597. The Bum of £4216 was _ taken at the gate£ compared with £3136 in the previous season. " During the few short years of the operations of the code in Auckland, every season has shown marked and substantial propress." adds the report. " A few years ago the league's assets amounted to £4O, and liabilities totalled £7O. The aim has consistently been to provide bright, clean, spectacular football, and to make Carlaw Park thp best sports ground in the Dominion. A scheme to provide ample covered accommodation for spectators and suitable provision for players has been eono into during the year. The matter is to be discussed by tire incoming committee, and it is to be hoped beginning of the 3923 season will see tne proposed improvements an accomplished fact." The results of the club competitions are recorded, and mention is made of the fact that in representative football _ Auckland had an unbeaten record for the season, retaining the Northern Union Cup. Special reference is made to the success of the league's free insurance scheme for senior players. In that connection £io7 tras expended during the year.
