LAWN TENNIS.

SCHOOLS TOURNAMENT. MANY INTERESTING GAMES. HIGH STANDARD-OF PLAY. The schools lawn tennis championship louniameiit was commenced on Saturday. The girls' events were played at tie Remuera Club's courts, and the bovs events on the association courts at Stamey Street. Messrs. F. Ohison and M. E. Ward had charge of the tournament, and under their management good progress was mace in all events. The entries compare favourably with previous years, both m numbers and in the standard of pI«J" miched. Many interesting matches were played on Saturday, and the later rounds should pro vide some really close contests.
