EVENTS AT MORRINSVILLE. LADY CHAMPIONS' VISIT. [by telegraph.—own Correspondent.] MORRINSVILLE, Saturday. The executive committee of ike Mornnsvilie Amateur Swimming Club has been advised by vlie New Zealand Council that Alibs E. Stockley (Auckland) and .Miss M. Miiier (Outgo), New Zealand champions, would visit Morrinsville about March 18. The committee decided to suggest to the council that Tuesday, March 15, would be a more suitable date. It was suggested that Misses Jean Bell and Pin L'age (Auckland) be invited to compete against Misses StccKley and Miller, so as to bring the carnival up to a championship standard, and it was decided to write to the Auckland Centre asking- its opinion on the matter. Several cups and trophies have been donated for this carnival and the programme will include the -1-iOyds South Auckland championship. The South Auckland Centre carnival will be held at Morrinsville on March 1. when various championships will bo decided. The officials appointed were:—Referee, Mr. W. Wilkinson (Cambridge); handicapper, Mr. F. Empson (Hamilton); starter, Mr. A. Needham; check starter, Mr. B. Chapman: judges, Messrs. G. F. Oats, L. Aitken and J. Enson; announcer, Mr. A. Cr. Yard ley; ladies' steward, Miss D. Cargilh competitors' stewards, Messrs. R. G. Vivian and I). Ganley. HELENSVILLE RIVER RACE. WIN FOR MISS EDDLESTONE. The Ilelensville Swimming Club held n mile handicap race in the river on Saturday afternoon. The result was:—Miss E. Eddlestone, sm, 1; A. Keane, <J5s, 2: B. Keane. Ms. ii. Miss Eddlestone won by 20yds, A. Keane being 15yds ahead of his brother, and registering fastest, time. Twelve of the M starters completed the course.
