TRAMS TO EDENDALE.

STOP AT THE TERMINUS. REPLY MADE TO COMPLAINT. Reference to the complaint of Mount Albert ratepayers that tramcars failed to stop at the Edendale terminus, but remained about 100 yards up the tine, was made at a meeting of the Mount Albert Borough Council -last evening. The Auckland town clerk wrote stating that the terminal point of the Edendale cars was fixed on the city side of Calgary Road, the reason being that should cars run to the end of the track and take their standing time there they would obstruct ready access to and from Calgary "Street. The extra length •of line beyond - the.-present point was. laid .down to provide standing room when there was necessity to lay up extra cars at the terminus. It was considered that'the.'pointwhere the cars now stood was the bestin the interests of the general users of the streets-and public safety. Mr. 11. D. Fulton said he believed the letter placed the matter in the right light. Mr. R. J. Alh'ngham moved that a copy of the town- clerk's letter be., sent, to the local, ratepayers' association.' The j motion was carried.
