KEEN DEMAND FOR WOOL.

THE SECOND. DUNEDIN SALE. HIGH QUALITY AND PRICES. [BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] DUNEDIN, Monday. The second wool sale of tho season opened to-night, when about 7000 bales of the 25,000 on the catalogue were sold. Bidding was extremely keen throughout and the market generally showed an improvement on the December sale of from Id to ljd for Merinos, Id for half-bred and for crossbreds. The condition of the wool offered was better than has been seen in Dunedin for many seasons and this no doubt accounted in 110 small degree for the strong demand. The top prices received 50 far are equal to, if not bettor than, the best yet obtained in New Zealand this year. They were: Merino fleece, 16 bales, 23d; 9 bales, 22£ d. Merino pieces, 21d. Merino locks, 12d. Halfbred fleece, 22d.
