The train, was promptly stopped, but not before the engine had passed the man. However, the hitter's legs were"missed by Inches. Upon examination it was found that the man, who has been identified as James Hall, a labourer, aged 38 years, had a serious scalp wound. He was unable to give any coherent account of how the injury was sustained and how he got into the position in which he was found. Hall received medical attention and was removed to the Napier Hospital. He is progressing well. . ,
