SPANISH TROOPS AMBUSHED.
HEAVY 'LOSSES INFLICTED. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Reed. 5.5 p.m.) TANGIER, Dec. 14. A Riff chief named Beni Gorfet ambushed a Spanish column and inflicted heavy losses of men and munitions. He also repulsed a mobile column. The Anjira tribesmen have captured a Spanish officer. The Jebala tribesmen are restless. Heavy rains are impeding the Spanish campaign.
