It is understood that the Air Ministry has arranged for a cruise in the middle of next year of a fleet of flying boats to Australia, via Singapore, commanded by an officer of high rank. The machines will be of tlie supermarine Southampton type, e;ich carrying « crew of four and equipped with Napier Lion twin engines ot 900 horse power. The Air Ministry recently equipped the coastal reconnaissance squadrons with this type of engine. If one engine fails, a second will maintain the machine aloft. The speed of the machines will be 110 jnilcs an hour
