DOMINION CHAMPIONSHIP, SELECTION OF LINKS. [BT TELEGEAPK.—OWN COK.UE SPON DEN T.'] HAMILTON. Wednesday. Before deciding where the next annual Dominion championship golf tourney will be held, the New Zealand Golf Council has decided to send a committee to Hamilton in February to inspect St Andrew's links. The secretary of the Hamilton Golf Club stated that February was the worst month in the year to inspect the links for. unlike the metropolitan clubs, the Hamilton olnb had not sufficient funds to -keep the grounds in first-class order all the year round. No justifiable reasons had been given why the championship tournament should not be held in Hamilton, and the inspection of the links was regarded as unnecessary THE GAME IN THE ISLANDS. [FBOM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT. 3 SUVA, Dec. 0. Some excellent golf is played on the Island links, and interest centred recently in the play in the championships of Fiji and Tonga. Following were the results:—Fiji men's championship: May McEwan (acting-Colonial Secretary) defeated L. Pope. 8 up and 7; Fiji ladies championship, Miss Mcßae (now of New Zealand) defeated Mrs. Luccinolli; Tor.gar. men's championship, G. Slocorabe defeated A. Cocker, 3 up and 2; Tonga ladies' championship, Miss Wallace defeated Miss E. Jone3, 6 np and 4.
