DIMMING OF HEADLIGHTS.
PROBLEM FOR MOTORISTS. [BY TEI.EGBAFH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT. ] DUNEDIN. Wednesday. At a meeting of the Ob go Motor Club, the chairman, Mr. J. Ansell, said the South Island Motor Union had decided against the dimming of headlights, with a provision that proper focussing of the lights should be attended to. Mr. Ansell said a North Island magistrate had held that lights should not be dimmed, yet the Act stated that motorists must not drive with dazzling headlights. Unfortunately the Government had given rio assistance. Although plans on the Californiah system had ..been prepared, the Government had taken no action. Mr. Ansel! added that he had telegraphed to the Minister, who had replied that the regulations would not be ready until the New Year.
