NORTH SHORE BUSES.
LICENCE APPLICATIONS. v.. T) ' , MILFORD-DEVONPQRT SERVICE. A renewed application by the Waitemata- Bus and Transport Company, Ltd., for a licence for a motor-bus service between Northcote and Milford came before No. 2 Licensing Authority, the Takapuna Borough Council, last evening. Consideration of. the matter was deferred until an adjourned sitting of the authority to be held next Monday morning. The secretary said he had received a message by telephone from Messrs. Alison and Alderton, solicitors, to the effect that they had been instructed to apply to the authority for licences for the yellow buses, from Milford to Devonport. It was agreed that this application, when received, also be considered at Monday's meeting. At- thje meeting of the Borough Council it was stated on the authority of the borough solicitor that there was ho right of appeal from the judgment of Mr. Justice Adams that the owners -of the Yellow Biises must apply to No, 2 Licensing Authority in order to obtain licences to run in Takapuna. The council resolved' on the motion of Mr. R. H. Greville that the proposal to acquire the undertaking "of the Takapuna Tramway and Ferry Company be advertised, afresh with the object of taking the, necessary ' poll of . ratepayers toward the end of January.
