BOAT RACE CANCELLED.
ACTION BY HEADMASTER. "SCHOOL DISCIPLINE AT STAKE." [BX TELEGRAPH. OWN COEEESPONDENT. ] WANGANUI. Monday. There has been considerable excitement in college circles over the cancellation by the Rev. C. F. Pierce, headmaster of the Wanganui Collegiate School, of the visit of the college rowing crew to Christchurch to compete against Christ's College. The boat was sent on Thursday, but on Friday tho crew was not allowed to depart. The only reason the master would give was that school discipline was at stake. The matter is a serious disappointment to the crew, which had trained most assiduously for some weeks past.
