CHRISTMAS WEEK ISSUE. SUPERB HOLIDAY NUMBER, This week's edition of the Auckland Weekly News, to be published tomorrow, will be the annual Christmas week issue. Judging by the brisk demand from all parts of New Zealand for extra copies, the publication is eagerly awaited by a large cu*cle of readers. Such warm appreciation is fully merited, and there will be no disappointments. It wiJI be a specially-enlarged number of 108 pages, illustrating in a magnificent manner Christmas out-of-doors in this favoured Dominion, and the summer holiday season in all its glory. The pictures have been carefully selected and reproduced to perfection on fine art paper. For the illustrations alone, the Christmas week issue makes a seasonable gift for friends in other lands. Another fine feature of the number will be a wealth of Christmas stories, specially written for the Weekly News by some of its most talented contributors, to whom the editor issued the general request, "New Zealand Stories for New Zealand's National Weekly." Ono of the serials, an absorbingly interesting one, is by a New Zealand writer, who has delved deeply for material into early Maori tradition. The children's page will also contain New Zealand stories, and a special cartoon for the little folk by the popular artist, T.L. Notwithstanding that a great deal of extra expense is entailed in the production, the issue is being sold at the usual price, ninepence. A limited supply only can be reserved for local sales, and this means that those in Auckland desiring copies must place their orders at once.
