SEVERAL MOTORING MISHAPS.
NO SERIOUS INJURIES.
An unusually largo number of acci•dents occurred in Auckland on Saturday , While riding with her husband in a motor-cycle at the intersection of Manu. kau and Ranfurly Roads, Epsom, during the afternoon, Mrs. E. Olsen, aged 44, residing at '266, Queen. Street, Onehunga, was thrown out of the vehicle as the result of a collision with a motorcar. She was admitted to the Auckland Hospital suffering from a fractured right rib. Her condition last evening W as satisfactory.
A fractured right leg was received by Air. Henry Haswell, aged 77, 0 f 44 Ellerton Road, Mount Eden, through falling off the pavement in Shortland Street on Saturday afternoon. The hospital authorities reported last evening that his condition was not serious.
Through falling from a moving tramoar in Khyber Pass on Saturday morning, Aancy Mack,, aged 11, whose parents reside at 27, Belmont Terrace, Rtmuera, sustained slight concussion. She had racoverod consciousness at the hospital last evening.
Manola Sibbit, aged 8, whose parents reside at 17, Ponsonby Road, was admitted to tho hospital on Saturday afternoon suffering from injuries to the head, received through being knocked down by a motor-car on Collego Hill Ponsonby. Uio girl is progressing; satisfactorily.
While riding a bicycle along Crammer Road, Grey Lynn, late on Saturday afternoon, Henry Sarnev, aged 19, of H Coleridge Street, Grey Lynn, collided with a motor-car. He was thrown heavily to the road, receiving injuries to the head. Last evening the hospital authorities stated ho .was progressing - favourably.
Injuries to the left forearm were c/tstained by Mr. Henry Walters, first assistant engineer of the American steamer Dewey, berthed at Prince's Wharf, on Saturday afternoon. Mr. Walters was dismantling a valve in the engine room when a piece of the valve fell on his left wrist.
As a result of a collision with a motorcar near the Avondale Mental Hospital late on Saturday evening, Mr. George Mansell, aged 36, builder, of Panmure, was thfown from his bicycle, receiving a fractured right forearm. ' His condition is satisfactory.
A six-cylinder car had a narrow escape from. serio"s damage on the Great South ? Road near Manurewa,. where only a portion of the road is open for traffic owing to concreting operations. When passing another car the motor dropped into a ditch 4ft-. deep. A strong hedge saved , it from overturning, and it was soon placed back on the road with the help of residents of the locality. There were four passengers in the car, but no one was injured.
