SEARCH FOR BANDIT.
SUSPECTED OF MURDERS. A POLICEMAN WOUNDED. A. and N.Z. LONDON. Dec. 9. A message from Nice says the bandit Ballastro, who is suspected of murder, boarded a train bound for France after lie had severely wounded a policeman with a gunshot. The authorities are actively searching for him. A cable published yesterday stated Fascist militia and a battalion of infantry are scouring a terror-stricken countryside, searching for a bandit named Ballastro and his gang. They are suspected, of having murdered a young Fascist, Nino Cavarino, at Ventimiglia. two carabinieri at Milan, and two gendarmes, Sommasehino and Gerby. whose bodies were, found at Camporotra while the funeral of Cavarino was taking place.
