GREAT LAND CLAIM.

HEART OF SYDNEY AREA. STORY OF A ROYAL GRANT. A. and N.Z. SAN FRANCISCO. Dec. 3. Ten grandchildren of the late Mr. Robert Paton allege that the latter was granted 160 acres oi land in 1835 in what is now the heart of Sydney. To-day they engaged lawyers to endeavour to establish their claim to this property, which is now estimated to be worth £6,000,000. The heirs of Robert Paton claim that he was given this Royal grant- of land in recognition of his invention of a method for ridding Sydney Harbour of dangerous rocJks. Eight of the grandchildren Jive in Oalii'oniia and two, Mr. J. G. Paton and Mrs. Allan M. Mowry, in New York city.
