RELIABILITY TRIAL.

CIRCUITS OF NORTH ISLAND, After running continuously for four days and nights an Oldsmobilo touring car passed through Auckland yesterday morning on the commencement of its second circuit of the North Island. The trial was organised by the distributors of the car with a view to demonstrating ,- 5 the ability of the vehicle to run for long periods under colonial conditions without attention. Stops for punctures or essential adjustments are being recorded in a log, but it is the aim of the drivers to keep the car moving under all circumstances. * 7 A representative of the Heraxd was a passenger during the Northern section of the trip from Auckland to Kaitaia and back. The running time was about 34, 1 , hours and over 600 miles was covered. Since the commencement of the trial at noon on Mobrlay, the car has been driven over 2000 miles. The first section of the trip took the car to Wellington. It reached Auckland again at 9.30 on Wednesday evening and left immediately for Whangarei, via Waiwera and Warkwcrth. Whangarei was reached at 4.58 a.m. on Thursday and Kaitaia at 11.44 a.m. The return journey was made over the West Coast route through Dargaville and Maungaturoto. Very rough clay roads were encountered between Maungataroto and Helensville, and the car reached Auckland shortly after 8 a.m. yesterday. After a circuit of the city it left for the south, and was reported to have passed Kuiti at 3.5 p.m.
