REVELATIONS BY MEMBER. STRONG CRITICISM VOICED. "CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION." MR.-tIMPANY- NOT AT MEETING. [[by telegraph.—own correspondent.] WELLINGTON, Wednesday. The New Zealand Dairy Produce Board began its monthly meeting this morning when all the members now in New Zealand were present except Mr. W. Goodfellow, who was granted leave of absence on account of private business, and MY. T. M. Tiinpany from whom no explanation of his absence was received. The acting-chairman or the board, Mr. J. R. .Thacker, remarked that he had intended to' comment on the unjustified publication of confidential cablegrams by. Mr. Timpany and would have preferred to do sp in Mr. Timpany's presence. Ha strongly disapproved of Mr. Timpany's action and assured the board that it was without his authority or sanction- Mr, Timpany's action was quite outside any business procedure, -particularly as regards., the cablegram . from the Prime Minister. That cablegram had been received by the board by courtesy of the Minister of Agriculture and it was quite outside the bounds of etiquette arid procedure to publish it. He stsungly and emphatically protested against such publications Other members briefly concurred with (he chairman's remarks, comment, however, being, in Mr. Timpany's absence, restrained. The secretary, Mr. T, C. Brush, strongly objected to the suggestion that. cablegrams received had been held back from the board. 'The Prime Minister's cablegram had been immediately reud to the board on- i,ts. receipt from the Minister of Agriculture by a special messenger. The Minister, following a telephoue message, had sent ,the cablegram on without delay after receiving it.
