RELIEF FOR TAXPAYERS. A. and N.2. HOE ART. Nov. 17 The Premier, Mr. J. A. Lyons, in the course of his Budget speech in the House of Assembly, sfiid. the surplus on the past year's transactions was £28,221. The accumulated deficit at June 30 was £394,551 The revenue for the current year was estimated at £2,885,620 and the expenditure at £2,863,537. Relief amounting to £139,800 would be given to the taxpayers on the income, land and liquor taxes.
