A NEW ADMINISTRATOR. MAJOR-GENERAL SELLHEIM. A. and N.Z. HELBOUBNE. Nov. 17. Major-Genera! V. C. M. Seilheim has been appointed Administrator of Norfolk Island; ■ Major-General Victor C. M. Seilheim was born at Sydney on May 12, 1866. He is the eldest son of the late Mr. P. F. Seilheim. who was Under-Secretary of Mines,- Queensland. His mother was a daughter of Lieutenant-Colonel Morrisset, lato H.M. 48th Regiment and formerly Governor of Norfolk Island. General Seilheim was educated at the Brisbane Grammar School. He served in South Africa, 1809-1900, with the 2nd Battalion Northampton Regiment, Queensland Mounted Infantry, staff of Pilcher's Mounted Infantry Brigade and staff of Chanvel's Mounted Infantry. He was at one time Military Conimandant of Victoria. In the Great War he served as Assistant Adjutant and Quartermas-ter-General on the headquarters staff of the Ist Australian Division, August, 1914; was appointed in January, 1915, to or ganise and command the A.I.F. intermediate base in Egypt; later commanded A.I.F. headquarters in addition to being General Officer Commanding the Australian troops in Egypt. He was later appointed General Officer Commanding the A.I.F. in the United Kingdom. He was recalled to Australia to resume duty as Adjutant-General and 2nd Military Member of the Military Board. Ho was A D.C. to the Governor-General, 1917-20.
