OBITUARY.
MR. P. G. SMITH. The death has occurred of Mr. Frederick Clapcot Smith. Deceased was born in London 79 years ago and arrived in Auckland with hife wife and four children in the ship James Wishart 53 years ago, after a voyage of 16 weeks. He firsi made his home in Whangaparkoa. It was here he had the misfortune to lose his home by fire. The Maoris of tine district sheltered the family until they were settled in another home. He returned to Auckland the following year and had resided here until his death. Deceased leaves a family of 13 children, 44 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
