PAY IN RAILWAY SERVICE.
LOCOMOTIVE MEN'S CLAIMS. CONFERENCE WITH AUTHORITIES. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] WELLINGTON, Monday. Rates of pay and the payment of express men on a mileage bssis were the principal subjects of deliberation at the moeting of the General Council of the New Zealand Locomotive Engineers, Firemen and Cleaners' Association, held in Wellington to-day. Proceedings lasted throughout the day. It was decided to meet the Acting Minister of Railways and the Railway Board in conference to-morrow morning on the points in dispute.
