AUCKLAND STOCK EXCHANGE. AVERAGE BUSINESS TRANSACTED. Average business was transacted on the Auckland sharemarket yesterday, interest being confined chiefly to the better class stocks and shares. In Government securities there was fairly general inquiry, but few sellers quoted. Soldiers' Bonds were dona at £IOO 5s and buyers closed firmer at £IOO 7s 6d, with no holders quoting. Demand for Soldiers' Inscribed also closed firmer at £IOO 7s 6d, sellers £IOO 10s. In commercial debentures New Zealand Breweries stock sold at 245, the cur rent price. In banks Nationals of New Zealand changed hands at £6 19s, against £7 last week. More were wanted at £6 18s 6d, sellers £7. New Zealands had sale at 60s, a decline of 6d, and more were available at that figure, buyers 59s 6d Rights were held firmly for 6s 4d, but demand eased from 6s 3d to 6s Id. In insurance New Zealands were done at 39s 6d, against 40s last week and the market closed at 39s 3d and 40s. South British also sold a triile easier at 595, with late inquiry at 58s 3d, sellers 59s 6d. In miscellaneous Wilsons Cement changed hands at 33s 3d, the current price. Closing quotations, were 33s and 33s 9d. In raining Alburnias sold at 4s sd, 4s 4d and 4s 6d and Moanataiaris, the contributing issue, at 2s 2d and 2s 4d. More of the latter were wanted at 2s 4d, sellers asking 2s sd. Kawaraus again sold at 2s 7d and the market closed at 2s 6d and 2s Bd.
