RENEWAL OF A LEASE.
REQUEST TO CITY COUNCIL
A letter from the Salvation Army stating that in view of the need of enlarging its Albert -Street hall it would like to know whether its lease of the site-, expiring in 1933, would he renewed, was received by the City Council List: evening. It desired to know whether in the event of the leasfl being renewed it would bo able to acquire portions of adjoining-prop-erties to make room for structural alterations to provide for Sunday School and social halls. s -
It was decided to reply that in view of probable developments in "the civic square area it was not possible for the council to give any indication of what it was prepared to do. in regard to a further lease when the present lease expired.
