RELUCTANT WITNESS
WARNING BY THE JUDGE. Tne trial of Harry Langton, aged 38, tram conductor (Mr. Moody), on two charges of indecent exposure in a tramcar was commenced in the Supreme Court yesterday before Mr. Justice Herdman and a jury. A. girl, aged 17, who gave evidence as to the first charge, admitted in crossexamiuation that she had given evidence of identification in a previous case of a similar nature. She said the accused .on that occasion had been fined, but later said be had been discharged. She had also been called upon to identify another accused person, but her identification had not been followed by any proceedings. Witness was pressed for details of tho latter incident and her failure to answer counsel drew from the Jndge the remark that he would have to do something to her if she did not reply. The he,aring will be continued at 10 o'clock this morning.
