DEATH BY DROWNING.

INMATE OF THE INFIRMARY.

The circumstances surrounding the death of Malcolm McLeod, an inmate of the Auckland Infirmary, who was found drowned in the Auckland Harbour on Tuesday morning, were investigated by Mr. W. R. McKcan, S.M., coroner, at an inquest yesterday. Evidence of identification was given by John Barn, head porter at the infirmary, who said deceased had always appeared contented and happy. "Found drowned" was the verdict returned by the coroner, who added that there was no evidence to show how deCeased got in the water.
