NORFOLK ISLAND.
WORK OF THE CHURCH. A. and X.Z. SYDNEY. Oct. 27. The Bishop of Goulburn, speaking at, to-day's sitting of the General Synod of tho Anglican Church, referred to the spiritual care of the inhabitants of Norfolk Island. He said the General Synod of Now Zealand wished to transfer the island to the province of New South Wales. The island had been under the care of the Bishop of Melanesia, who no longer wished to be responsible for its care. The synod decided to refer the question to the Bishops of the province of New ! South Wales. .
