Ohinemuri.— No. 3 level: The south drive on the Camoola reef has been extended to a point 177 ft,. from No. 6 crosscut. This drive is within 50ft. of the _ point where ore with free gold was showing at No. 1 level south. 300 ft. overhead. A fine body of ore is being along. The crosscut at 110 ft. south of No. 6 crosscut is out ! 41ft. This work will be continued to inter sect a large body of ore showing on the J surface eastward of No. 1 level. Payable i ore was carried for a width of 23ft. A ! commencement has been made with No. 1 j rise, south section, and to open up the | block of, ore south of No. 6 crosscut and to provide ventilation. In the section north of the Silverstream crosscut, 1750 ft. from tho south section, the drive on tho Camoola reef has been resumed and extended 24ft.. making a total distance of 184 ft. from Silverstream crosscut. Ore of a ■> sihiy payable {trade had previously been carrifjd for about 150 ft. northward and southward of Silverstream crosscut and this work is being prosecuted to reach a point parallel with good ore exposed in the Queen section. At a point close to the Silverstream crosscut a rise is being put up to open up the block existing there and highgrade ore lias been exposed. The mine between this level and the surface is unexplored and this rise is a very important work. Samples have been sent for assay. In the Queen and Julia sections the necessary timbering to maintain the levels is in hand so that stoping operations may bo carried on immediately electric power becomes available.
