LOSS ON A CONCERT TOUR.
TRIP THROUGH NEW ZEALAND SINGER'S CLAIM FOR SALARY. [fbosi ovn own correspondent. J SYDNEY. Oct, 21. The story of the unsuccessful tour of a concert company in New Zealand in the early part, of this year with Madame Elsa Stralia and Andre Navarre as vocal stars, was told in the Banco Court yesterday. Navarre sought to recover £9O from George Walker the promoter of the tour. Plaintiff, in his evidence, said that the tour was not altogether a financial success, and he had advanced money on behalf of the defendant to pay the passages from New Zealand to Sydney of two artists. He was engaged at a' salary of £2O a weak. He was now claiming three weeks' salary, together with £3O ho had advanced on behalf of the defendant. The defendant did not appear, but filed a plea of "never indebted" and a rescission of the contract alleged. By direction, the jury found in favour of the plaintiff, for £9d. _________
