MILITARY TRAINING.

THE PROGRAMME OF CAMPS, The forthcoming military year promises to be particularly strenuous for the Northern Command, and dates have already been allotted for nearly 30 camps in various parts of the province. This number is in excesse of that in past years and the camps will not conclude until next April. A section of the 13th Battery ia at present undergoing a course of training at North Head, and will conclude on Saturday. A further section will go into camp on Sunday until November 6. A detachment of signallers will be in camp from November 1 to 6, and during the same period cadet n.c.o.'s will undergo a course of instruction. A week's camp will be carried out from November 6 by B. Company, of the Ist Battalion, Hauraki Regiment, and following this a casual camp will be commenced for all trainees unable to attend the regular camps. As a preliminary to the camps commencing early in the new year, members of the New Zealand Permanent Staff will undergo a refresher course at Trentham from November 29 to December 1L One of the largest camps will be that of the Ist Battalion, Auckland Regiment, which goes under canvas for 10 day 3 at Ngaruawahia from February 9. ~This camp proved highly successful last year, and with fine weather again should result in much ,iul work being carried oat.
