ALIKE AS TWO PEAS.
TWINS' 83rd BIRTHDAY. WESTERN AUSTRALIAN BROTHERS Two famous Australian twins celebrated their 83rd birthday recently at. Busselton, Western Australia. They are Nathaniel and John Abbey, who were born at Busselton and have lived there all their lives. In every respect they are alike, and throughout their lives have steadfastly refused to adopt distinctive features. On many occasions friends, to enable a distinction to be made, have suggested that one twin should wear a beard and the other a moustache. But the Abbeys have remained unchanged through the years, and are so alike in build and features that even now it is well-nigh impossible to distinguish one from the other. Soon after they were born the nurso removed the distinguishing ribbons from their necks, and to this day no one has discovered which* is Nathaniel and which is John.' They wear similar clothes and ties, while their watch chains and rings are alike. Old residents relate with amusement how, when the Abbeys were young men, their favourite belles were never sure whether John was keeping Nathaniel's appointment, or vice versa. Alike as two peas in a pod, they have never been separated, and they declare that they will die at the same moment.
