LOSS ON STATE ENTERPRISES. I j A. and N.Z. BRISBANE, Oct. 14. The annual report of the Commissioner of State Enterprises discloses a heavy deficit in respect of the operation of State stations. The loss in the past financial year was £152,535. 4 The State enterprises which showed profits were: Butchers' shops, £565; produce agency, £1521; railway refreshment rooms, £J52,256; hotels, £3939; fish supply, £473; cannery, £287. The report says the heavy deficit incurred by the State stations, together with the payment of £IO,OOO out of the profits from the railway refreshment rooms to the consolidated revenue, was responsible for the conversion ot the credit balance of £107,542 which existed on Juno 30, 1925, into, a. debit at June SO last of. £32,052.
