FOUND WITH THROAT CUT.
VICTIM OF ILL-HEALTH. [by telegraph.—own correspondent.] DTTNEDIN, Thursday. At Palmerston yesterday an inquest was held into the death of Alexander McKean, a single man, 48 years of age, who was found dead in the morning in the Domain. Evidence was given by the father of the deceased, who stated that his son had been suffering for some time with asthma and he had not been able to sleep during the past week. Yesterday morning he left home after breakfast and did not return. At about nine o'clock it was reported to hiim that his son was acting in a peculiar manner and he found him lying under a tree in the Domain with his throat cut. There was a razor near him. The coroner returned a verdict of suicide while in a state of depression due to ill-health.
