ACTION AGAINST WIFE.
TRESPASS CHARGE MADE. AN UNUSUAL CASE IN COURT. [B V TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] CHRISTCHURCH/ Thursday. Because she refused to obey a summons to appear in the Magistrate's Court yesterday afternoon, it was necessary to arrest Phyllis Pratt, a young married woman, and take her to the Court to answer the unusual charge of wilfully trespassing on premises occupied by her husband, Charles Pratt, after she had been warned to leave. Mr. H. P. Lawry, S.M., was on the Rench. Mrs. Pratt, who pleaded not guilty, was represented by Mr. Sim and Mr. Inder appeared for Charles Pratt. Mr. Sim, after entering his plea, asked that the case should be stood down for a fortnight. Mr. Inder: The defendant lias been at her husband's office all day and refused to go away. A deed of separation has been prepared and the parties have signed it. Perhaps Your Worship could hear something and give a direction that would prevent a repetition of this sort, of thing. Mr. Sim : I do not wish to open this thing because there is no knowing where it will stop. The Magistrate: She will not go near her husband during the two weeks. If she does tell her she will he brought back here again. Mr. Sim (to Mrs. Pratt) : Will you guarantee not to molest, your husband ? Mrs. Pratt: Yes, but he broke the deed. Mr. Sim: It, does not matter about that. Do you promise not. to go near your husband ? Mrs. Pratt: Yes. The case was then stood down for two weeks-
