Last May a settler handed him a letter to register at Te Kawn. Turner opened it, abstracted the money and posted the letter in a new envelope to the addressee in England. The letter was returned to the writer, who complained to the postal authorities. Constable Doyle took up the investigation and to him Turner admitted the theftAccused was committed for sentence at the Auckland Supreme Court.
