The* Dunediri Jockey Club's spring meetS ing was opened to-day in fine weather and before a large attendance. The track was in fair order, but was rather dead after the recent rain. The totalisator handled £17,282 Ids for the day, compared with £17,945 10s for the fi -st day last year. After the running of the McLean Stakes an allegation was made that Mr. A. D. MeIvor, the club's official starter, was interI ested in the training of the winner. Some Robo,, but following a full inquiry the judicial committee decided that he was not guilty of any improper practices and completely exonerated him from the charge.
