THE LATE MR. ALDRIDGE.
AN IMPRESSIVE FUNERAL. The esteem in which the late Mr. George Aldridge, pastor, of the Wost. Street Church of Christ, was held was shown by the large numbers of people who attended the funeral service held yesterday afternoon. The memorial service held in the West Street Church was conducted by Mr. T. L. Wilcock, a life-long friend of Mr. Aldridge. The church was crowded, while several hundreds of people gathered in the street. Mr. Wilcock referred in the highest terms to the religious work of Mr. Aldridge and to his capacity as a student. He had won a place for himself in the hearts of the people by his faithful representation of the Gospel truths. Tributes to the memory of Mr. Aldridge were paid to the Rev. I. S. Stebbins, of the Auckland Ministers' Association, the Rev. E. H. Taylor, of the Congregational Church, Mr. H. P. Leng, of the Ponsonby Road Church of Christ, and Mr. J. Salisbury, of the Hamilton Church of Christ. The funeral was'attended by friends in about 30 motor-cars- The burial service was read by Mr Wilcock. Officers of the West Street Church acted as pullbearers.
