THE WAIKATO CONVENTION. " K; **-■'< V ' -'►J V- . Tho annual'convention of the Waikkto district delegates of tho Women's Christian Temperance Union was held at Morrinsville. Delegates were present from Cambridge, To Kuiti, Ngaraawahia, Fencourt, Frankton, Hamilton East, Hamiltoiij- Watihiy Momnsville.Hiid .from two Y branches, Cambridge and Hamilton East. The morning session was held in the Methodist Church, the delegates being welcomed by Rev. E. E. Loge. A paper was read by Mrs. Jones, Hamilton, president of the-district convention, giving a survey of the year's work. The afternoon sossion took place in the Parish Hajl: The Mayoress,;; Mrs. C. M. Gammer, welcomed the president of the Dominion convention, Mrs. T. E. Taylor. Mrs. Taylor spoke on the general work of the union throughout the Dominion. The election of officers for the coming year resulted: —President, Mrs. Jones "(re-elected); vice-president, Mrs. J. H. Starnes (Morrinsville); secretary, Mi's. Craig (Hamilton): treasurer, Mrs. Davis. It was suggested there should be a cradle roll to endeavour to train girls in temperance principles right, from babyhood to womanhood.
