GAY ASSEMBLY.

The new club premises of the Auckland Commercial Travellers and Warehousemen's Association was en fete on Saturday evening when the president, and members gave an "At Home," The function, which was largely attended, passed, off most successfully. Various entertalhments were provided for the guests, who, later in the evening roamed at will through the new building inspecting the fine rooms .with their comfortable furnishings. A bridge tournament and billiard matches were played during the evening, but the most popular resort was the large reception room on the top floor, where a concert was iti progress. Here the president, Mr. A. Thompson, welcomed the guests, and a programme of delightful music was contributed by Miss Laura Walker, Miss Moginie and Miss Holmes, whose singing was much enjoyed. Master J. McGregor, gave a violin solo and Mr. A. E. Allum and Mr. Barry Coney sang much-appreciated numbers, the latter's " Waiata Poi " and " Waiata Maori "■ being received with great enthusiasm. Mr. East brook gave humOrous recitations and Colin Mus ton's jazz band, with Mrs. Bird as accompanist, contributed several selections during the evening. After supper had been served the guests enjoyed dancing to excellent music supplied by Colin Huston's band. Among those present were: Mrs. Glover Clark, wearing a frock of begonia red embroidered georgette, Mrs. J. F. Cahill, orchid georgette with deep silver flounce, ruched in blue and petunia ribbons; Mrs Watts, black marocain; Mrs. Browning, black brocaded crepe de chine; Mrs. Moses, champagne georgette and lace: Mrs. Bird, apricot georgette; Mrs. Badeley, cyclamen georgette; Mrs. Brinsden, white taffeta and silver; Mrs. Youngs, rose crepe de chine; Mrs, McGlashan, black brocaded crepe de chine; Jlrs. Kelly, black taffeta. •Mrs. Ross, '•green beaded georgette; Mrs. Virtue, flame brocade; Mrs. Young, black marocain; Mrs. Haycock, jade green georgette beaded in silver; Mrs. Forsyth, cyclamen georgette; Mrs. Ellis, eau da nil georgette: Mrs. H. Smith, black marocain; Mrs. D. Nutsford, pink and gold lace: Mrs. McKay, black chiffon velvet and gold embroidery; Mrs. Sellar, black and white; Mrs. D.
